Sections
Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board has eight sections such as :-
- Administration;
- Finance;
- Licensing;
- Car park;
- Maintenance and Services;
- House and Building Assessment;
- Building Planning, Development Control and Enforcement;
- Workshop and Transport.
Administration
- To organise staff affairs having permanent posts, fixed monthly or daily salary,
including any issues related to their post, leaves, staff report, entitlement, and
other controls related to the staff and their welfare.
- To control and organise the filing system, mailing system, stationery, office
equipment and office furniture.
- Staff training.
Finance
- Dealing with financial matter similar to other government department.
- To include the Board's revenue including house / building tax, commercial license
fee, car park's fee and miscellaneous into government revenue.
- Preparing annual budget.
Licensing
- Secretariat to Licensing Committee.
- Issuing license / permit / business / trading.
- To control and ensure that all business have a valid license.
- To promote and ensure clean / healthy trading environment.
Car Park
To collect parking fees in accordance to Traffic Laws 1954, (Municipal Board Kuala
Belait and Seria) Traffic Rules Car Park 1979.
Maintenance and Services
- Cleaning the town area;
- Grass cutting;
- Road and drain maintenance / cleaning;
- Road and drain maintenance / cleaning;
- Controlling stray dog;
- Garbage collection and garbage disposal;
- Services to all houses / buildings within the Municipal area. Any charges are
assessed bu Municipal tax.
House and Building Assessment
- To assess and reassess every houses and buildings.
- To ensure all houses and buildings has been assessed.
- To collect annual tax for houses and buildings.
Building Planning and Development Control
- Secretariat to Planning and Development Control Committee.
- Review, planning and controlling physical development in accordance of Municipal
Board Enactment (By Laws).
- Controlling and ensure the building is built as approved plans.
Workshop and Transport
- Responsible in controlling, maintaining and repairs on vehicles including heavy
vehicles.
- To arrange usage of vehicles.
- To arrange drivers.
- Minor repair on building, equipment and some facilities provided by the Municipal
Board.
